FOTON Teams with Yierkeshtan Port to Promote “The Belt and Road”
On March 2, 2024, leaders from various organizations, including FOTON Motor, Kexu Irkeshtan Port Park Investment Company, Wuqia Songyuan Logistics, and Kashgar Hongcheng Yuanjing, gathered to discuss export modes at the Yierkeshtan Port Park.
According to statistics from the frontier inspection station, the annual clearance volume at Irkeshtan port continued to rise, reaching over 120,000 vehicles inspected and released in 2023. Remarkable records were achieved, such as a daily release volume of up to 800 units.
Foton expressed its commitment to collaborating closely with Yierkeshtan Port to facilitate the export of both brand new and second-hand vehicles, aiming to promote greener and more efficient logistic services. Additionally, Foton pledged to provide trucks to Xinjiang to enhance the autonomous region’s supply chain and reduce logistic costs.
Wuqia Songyuan Logistics specializes in transporting and exporting vehicles and various commodities to Central Asian countries. The logistic company has long recognized the quality of Foton Auman heavy-duty trucks. Both parties are determined to collaborate and increase the export volume of brand new and second-hand vehicles to Central Asia.
In 2024, five departments, including the Ministry of Commerce, issued an announcement regarding matters related to the export of second-hand vehicles, aiming to ensure the healthy and orderly development of second-hand vehicle export. Starting from March 1, Xinjiang opened the declaration for enterprises exporting used vehicles. China’s used cars are primarily exported to the five Central Asian countries, Africa, and some Southeast Asian countries. Irkeshtam Port, a key point connecting China with Central Asia and Europe, provides FOTON with a broad development platform for its overseas expansion.
Over the years, FOTON has intensified its overseas expansion efforts and deepened cooperation with countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”. Foton has been involved in over 80 projects in more than 60 countries along the “Belt and Road”, with cumulative exports reaching 460,000 vehicles.
