Zhizi Auto Ships First Hydrogen Trucks to Australia
Zhizi Auto has shipped its first batch of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks to Australia, marking the company’s entry into the Australian and New Zealand markets and a significant step in its global expansion strategy.
The delivery ceremony was held on May 30, as company executives, including Wang Bin, executive director and general manager of Techtrust Future and deputy general manager of Zhizi Auto, emphasized the importance of the shipment. Wang said the milestone reflects growing international recognition of Zhizi Auto’s new energy vehicle technologies and supports the company’s efforts to build a broader sales and service network overseas.
During the event, Zhizi Auto Deputy General Manager Lü Wenya presented a symbolic key to the company’s Australian partner. Zhizi Auto has invested heavily in the development of hydrogen-powered trucks, with continued improvements in energy efficiency, range, power output, and safety. The trucks have been certified to meet the standards of several high-barrier international markets.
The vehicles exported to Australia are equipped with a 240-kilowatt hydrogen fuel cell system, currently the highest-power mass-produced system in the industry. Each truck features a new-generation electric drive axle and can travel up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. Standard safety and performance features include automatic emergency braking, front collision warning, lane departure alert, driver fatigue monitoring and a composite air suspension system.
Following the ceremony, Zhizi Auto and its Australian partner signed a letter of intent for an additional 20 hydrogen trucks. Both parties plan to work together to expand the presence of hydrogen-powered vehicles in Australia and New Zealand, as part of a broader effort to support energy transition and low-carbon transportation.
