In June, the GWM Haval Raptor applied for the regulator’s sales approval. The filing revealed the SUV has several other names. The car, launched under the Haval Dragon series, was previously named Xianglong, only to be changed into Raptor. The filing showed that the new vehicle has multiple names. Besides the Raptor, it includes names like Veyron, Big Dog PRO, and Thunderbolt Dog.

Haval recorded 73,766 units sold in September, 37% more than last year. The brand ended the first quarter with 203,526 units sold, 22% more than the previous quarter. The previous quarter saw Haval releasing the Big Dog 2024 version and the new Haval H5. Haval sold almost half a million units in the first nine months of the year – 495,900 units, 9.1% more than last year.
