Red-Lined Motorsport returns from the midseason Century Racing Outeniqua 400 with a class win and leading two 2026 South African Rally-Raid Championship classes following a gruelling weekend at the delayed Southern Cape race. Nielen Marx and Rickus Hattingh took a maiden T1 Adventure class win in their Red-Lined VK50, while Red-Lined REVO SA T1+ teams, Johan and Sean van Staden, and Philip Botha and Andries Mynhardt consolidated their title advantage with second and third in class.

“Outeniqua was a challenging weekend but a good weekend all in all,” Red-Lined Group CEO Terence Marsh wrapped it up. “We come away with a maiden Adventure class win, and second and third in SA T1 off three podiums and five cars out of six entered, finishing a very tough and most demanding race. Best of all, our four privateer teams remain first and second in both their National classes with two rounds left to race.”

The highlight of the weekend was 18 year old Nielen Marx and Rickus Hattingh storming home to take their maiden T1 Adventure class victory in their Red-Lined VK56. That sees them close the gap on VAPS HCV Rally-Raid Red-Lined VK50 crew Peet Victor and Van Zyl Jonck in the 2026 South African Rally-Raid T1 Adventure championship chase.

Red-Lined REVO T1+ V8 teams, KEC Racing father and son Johan and Sean van Staden, and Penta Motor Group crew Philip Botha and Andries Mynhardt meantime fought a flat out battle throughout the Outeniqua 400 to end up second and third in the SA T1+ category. That sees the van Stadens close a little on Botha and Mynhardt as the teams continue in their battle for that National class championship.

South African Rally Raid fans also had their first experience of the Red-Lined developed DKR Evo racing on local soil. Dutch crews, Dave and Tessa Klaassen and Herman Jasper and Markus Laan brought their DaklaPack Rallysport machines home fifth and sixth on debut in South African T1+.

“With two races left to run, we’re in the nerve wracking position of leading both the SA T1+ and Adventure classes, so it’s all to do for the entire team,” Terence concludes. “Well done to everyone at Red Lined Motorsport for a brilliant effort so far this season. Now to wrap it up!”
