Rallye du Maroc 2025: Alexandre Pinto wins the first stage of the Rallye du Maroc

Alexandre Pinto, co-driven by Bernardo Oliveira, the reigning World Rally-Raid SSV Champions, claimed victory today in the first stage of the Rallye du Maroc — the longest stage of this final round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). The demanding leg took competitors from Fès to Erfoud, covering a total of 779 km, including 298 km of timed special, where the Old Friends Rally Team duo outperformed a highly competitive field.

“It was a fast stage, almost 300 kilometres against the clock. We managed to maintain a strong pace, even as we’re still getting to know our Polaris from the Old Friends Rally Team on this type of terrain. Everything went well — the result speaks for itself. We were the fastest on the stage, and it seems we’ve started off on the right foot, which gives us great motivation,” said Alexandre Pinto upon arriving in Erfoud. The Portuguese driver recently clinched the world title after a dominant victory at the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal, the fourth and penultimate round of the W2RC.

Tomorrow, competitors face the second stage of the Rallye du Maroc — the first of four loop stages starting and finishing in Erfoud. The day’s route totals 393 km, including 306 km of timed special and 87 km of liaison.
