Bruno Santos faced a very difficult day today in the second stage of the Rallye du Maroc, the final round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). Riding his Husqvarna 450 Rally, the Portuguese rider tackled 306 timed kilometres in the first of four stages starting and finishing in Erfoud.
“I reached the finish line completely exhausted. It was a tough and punishing stage — lots of rocks, broken tracks alternating with dune sections, all made worse by the dust in the air from the riders ahead. With one-minute starts, the dust hangs in the air for a long time and, with no wind, it just stays on the track, making visibility very difficult. I chose a cautious pace because there were many hazards. We constantly see riders stopping, the helicopter landing, competitors giving up after crashes — so I preferred a prudent rhythm to make sure I could reach the finish without problems,” explained the Torres Vedras rider, who is supported by Frutas Patrícia Pilar and Momento TT.
For tomorrow’s third stage of the 2025 Rallye du Maroc, competitors will face a 323 km timed special in a loop stage starting and finishing at the bivouac in Erfoud.
