WeRide, a global leader in autonomous driving technology, has officially announced that its WRD 3.0 one-stage end-to-end assisted driving solution now supports multiple chip platforms. This includes major automotive computing platforms such as NVIDIA DRIVE®, Qualcomm Snapdragon®, and SiEngine’s “Star 1” (AD1000). By covering various computing power tiers and price points, WeRide is providing global OEMs with a versatile family of L2++ high-level assisted driving solutions ranging from high-performance to high-cost-efficiency.

At the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, WeRide also announced a strategic partnership with SiEngine, a leader in high-performance automotive-grade chips. The two companies will focus on deep “chip + algorithm” synergy to optimize cost structures and promote the large-scale deployment of high-level assisted driving solutions across a broader price range, accelerating the popularization of the technology.

As the world’s first publicly listed universal autonomous driving company, WeRide has always maintained a highly versatile algorithm system as its core. From the start, the system was designed with hardware-software decoupling in mind, allowing the same algorithmic architecture to adapt to different computing platforms. This enables rapid migration and large-scale deployment, significantly reducing development and adaptation costs for OEMs and partners.

Building on this foundation, WRD 3.0 integrates L4-level autonomous driving capabilities—accumulated through years of real-world operations—into the high-level assisted driving framework. By utilizing the self-developed WeRide GENESIS universal simulation world model, the system achieves more stable decision-making, a more human-like driving style, and stronger fault tolerance in complex road scenarios, striking an optimal balance between safety and traffic efficiency.
Currently, WRD 3.0 has secured nominations for nearly 30 vehicle models from OEMs including GAC and Chery. On April 16, the Aion N60, the first mass-produced passenger car co-developed by WeRide and GAC Aion, officially began pre-sales. This marks WeRide’s first mass production of one-stage end-to-end technology on the Qualcomm Snapdragon® platform, delivering full-scenario high-level assisted driving—including urban, highway, parking, and active/passive safety—achieving the performance of 2000 TOPS with only 200 TOPS of computing power.

For automakers, this rollout means that high-level assisted driving no longer depends on a single chip platform or a customized development path. Instead, they can deploy across different models and computing tiers using the same software architecture, maintaining a consistent user experience while reducing complexity, total cost, and time-to-market.
The addition of SiEngine provides a critical boost to WeRide’s ecosystem compatibility and cost optimization within the Chinese domestic chip market. As a pioneer in high-performance automotive chips, SiEngine has established a dual-link layout for “Smart Cockpit + Smart Driving.” While its cockpit chip business expands rapidly, its high-level assisted driving chip, “Star 1,” entered mass production in 2025. It offers 512 TOPS on a single NPU and up to 2048 TOPS in multi-chip configurations, balancing performance, energy efficiency, and cost.
