Refreshed Chery Tiggo 9 Spied: Bold New Look and Proven 2.0T Power

Chery has officially released spy shots of the updated Tiggo 9, currently undergoing rigorous winter cold-weather testing. Positioned as a mid-size SUV, the refreshed model features significant exterior design enhancements and will continue to offer both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations.

In terms of design, the new Tiggo 9 retains the signature large-scale front grille, but the front fascia has been thoroughly modernized. The headlights have been enlarged and now feature a striking dual-L shaped daytime running light signature. Additionally, the side air intakes have been redesigned to be more aggressive and prominent.

According to regulatory filings, the vehicle measures 4,853 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,718 mm (or 1,730 mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The SUV sports sleek flush door handles and offers a variety of large, multi-spoke wheel options, ranging from 18 to 20 inches. At the rear, the full-width taillight assembly has been refined for a more premium visual impact, complemented by an updated rear bumper featuring integrated dual-exhaust trim.

Under the hood, the new Tiggo 9 is powered by the SQRF4J20C 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum power output of 192 kW (approx. 257 hp). The official fuel consumption is rated at 8.15L/100km.
