The fifth-generation Wuling Hongguang MiniEV is set to officially hit the market on March 27. This latest iteration marks a significant evolution for the popular micro-EV, featuring a practical four-door, four-seat layout, a completely refreshed design, and an upgraded all-electric powertrain.
In terms of aesthetics, the new model adopts a “Sweet Square Sugar” design language. The exterior is defined by eye-catching circular headlights and matching circular design elements on both the front and rear fascias, creating a cohesive and playful look. The vehicle features a two-tone body color scheme and is available in three new retro-inspired shades: Green, White, and Grey. The dimensions have been optimized, with a length, width, and height of 3268/1520/1575mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2190mm.
Inside, the cabin retains its signature cute styling while receiving a major tech boost. It now features a 10.1-inch central touchscreen equipped with a new, intuitive UI that allows users to access frequently used functions via a simple swipe-down control center. The vehicle offers four specialized one-touch modes: Nap, Camping, Rain/Snow, and Pet mode. Connectivity is also enhanced, with a mobile app that supports remote vehicle startup and climate control. The car also features keyless entry, push-button start, and intelligent power management. Future OTA updates will enable support for CarPlay, HiCar, and CarLink.
Practicality remains a core strength, with the rear seats featuring a 5:5 split-folding design that expands cargo capacity to 838 liters. The interior is also thoughtfully designed with 20 dedicated storage compartments.
Under the hood, the vehicle is powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 30kW. It is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering two CLTC range options: 205km and 301km. The system supports DC fast charging, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes.
