At the Beijing Auto Show, Fangchengbao officially unveiled its first sedan series, the “Fangcheng S,” with the flagship Fangcheng SL taking center stage. This high-performance electric sedan brings several groundbreaking features to the market, signaling a bold new direction for the brand.
### Design: The “Life Metal” Aesthetic
The Fangcheng SL embodies the brand’s “Life Metal” design philosophy, blending fluid metallic textures with aggressive, sharp lines. The vehicle’s proportions strictly follow the golden ratio, resulting in a low-slung, athletic stance that resembles a cheetah ready to pounce.
Designed by the Fangchengbao F DESIGN team, the SL commands a significant presence. It features dual bulging lines on the hood, sharp family-style headlights, and the “Ring of Infinity” taillights. With a length exceeding 5.2 meters and a wheelbase over 3.1 meters, it is a substantial entry in the executive coupe segment.
### Performance: 1,000 Horsepower and Sub-2 Second Sprints
Fangchengbao has equipped the SL with top-tier hardware. It features a tri-motor system delivering a peak output of nearly 1,000 horsepower, enabling a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time in the sub-2-second range—a performance level that places it among the elite in its class.
The vehicle comes standard with the DiSus-M (Cloud Chariot-M) intelligent magnetic rheological suspension and rear-wheel steering. This combination allows the 5.2-meter-long sedan to maintain exceptional agility while balancing high-speed stability and ride comfort.
### Battery and Charging: 1,000km Range, 5-Minute Charge
The Fangcheng SL utilizes BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, achieving a CLTC comprehensive range of over 1,000 kilometers (approx. 621 miles).
The charging performance is equally revolutionary. The battery can charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% in about 9 minutes. During the press conference, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu noted that this represents the fastest charging speed for any mass-produced vehicle globally.
### Intelligent Driving and Market Launch
Equipped with roof-mounted LiDAR, the Fangcheng SL features the “God’s Eye” 5.0 (Tian Shen Zhi Yan) intelligent driving system, supporting full-scenario assisted driving across highways and urban environments.
The Fangcheng S series, including the flagship SL, is expected to officially launch in the third quarter of this year. As a high-end electric flagship, it aims to compete with established rivals like the Tesla Model S and the NIO ET9.
