The all-new Geely Emgrand i-HEV Smart Hybrid made its global debut at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show on April 26. Built on the next-generation BMA Evo global modular architecture, the new model is powered by Geely’s advanced i-HEV smart hybrid system.
In terms of design, the Geely Emgrand i-HEV remains largely consistent with the standard internal combustion engine (ICE) version. It features a signature polygonal front grille with a vertical slat design, providing high brand recognition. The headlights on both sides are integrated with three-segment LED daytime running lights. The front bumper incorporates polygonal vents accented with chrome trim, while a trapezoidal cooling intake sits at the bottom.

On the intelligence front, the i-HEV Smart Hybrid utilizes Full-Domain AI 2.0 technology and debuts the Geely Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0 large model. By using AI to sense external factors such as temperature, humidity, altitude, and slope in real-time, the system matches the optimal fuel-electric strategy. This intelligent switching improves the vehicle’s overall energy efficiency by more than 10%. It ensures optimal power distribution across various conditions, including low-speed starts, urban driving, highway cruising, and rapid acceleration. The engine itself achieves a remarkable platform thermal efficiency of 48.41%.

The i-HEV Smart Hybrid introduces an innovative “Electric-Hybrid Isomorphism” solution. Leveraging the NordThor AI electric hybrid system and a high-rate hybrid-specific battery, it delivers a driving experience that is “electric-drive dominant with fuel-electric synergy.” The engine’s operating time is reduced by more than 27% compared to traditional hybrids, offering an electric-like driving feel over 80% of the time. The vehicle features a highly integrated Geely 11-in-1 hybrid electric drive and a P3 electric motor. Additionally, it employs Geely’s self-developed EOC engine order noise active control and intelligent stop-position prediction technology, further enhancing NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) performance. This reduces startup vibration by 32.7%, with overall vehicle noise being only 1 decibel higher than a pure electric vehicle. The car is equipped with a 1kWh high-rate battery that balances lightweight design with high power output and energy recovery.

Regarding safety, the i-HEV Smart Hybrid features dedicated independent channels for the fuel, electrical, water, and exhaust systems to ensure structural safety for both fuel and electric components. The vehicle is equipped with the Aegis Battery Safety System, utilizing a flat liquid-cooled hybrid-specific battery with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating—a protection level 48 times higher than the national standard.
