On April 7, the iCAR V23 officially debuted. The car is the first model jointly created by Chery and SmartMi Technology. It is positioned as a pure electric small SUV with a cruising range of up to 500km. It will also start the new V series of iCAR, focusing on stylish off-road models (the 0 series represented by iCAR 03 will focus on exquisite technology style). It is reported that the car is expected to meet with the public at the Beijing Auto Show and plans to start pre-sale, listing and delivery in the second half of the year.
Let’s take a look at the new car. Although its appearance is still a boxy shape, many classic designs have been modernized, including the thick bumper, round lamp design, raised front hood and widened wheel eyebrows, etc., making it both retro and stylish. In terms of details, we can see that the car will also adopt a new LOGO design and be equipped with millimeter wave radar.
Coming to the side, the new car adopts a four-wheel four-corner layout and a square body shape, which not only has an outstanding visual effect, but also helps to improve the interior space performance. In addition, the car is also equipped with roof luggage racks, hidden door handles and side pedals, etc., full of details. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4220/1915/1845mm, a wheelbase of 2730mm, an approach angle of 42/43°, a departure angle of 40/41°, and a minimum ground clearance of 206/212mm (front two-wheel drive version, rear four-wheel drive version), and 19-inch and 21-inch wheels are available.
The rear of the new car is also full of design. The small schoolbag design is very eye-catching, but it is actually connected to the interior and can be regarded as an additional storage space that cannot be opened from the outside. The tailgate of the new car will adopt a side opening method, and two anchor point interfaces are reserved on the left side to enrich the feasibility of subsequent personalized modifications. It is worth mentioning that the car is equipped with a total of 4 millimeter wave radars, which can realize L2+ intelligent driving assistance functions.
Entering the car, the new car continues to use a large number of rounded rectangular design elements, and at the same time uses a two-color design with yellow embellishments to improve the visual effect. A large-size screen is installed in the center, and physical buttons are equipped below. The knob is also decorated with embossed patterns. It is worth mentioning that the real shot model is still in the trial production state, so the specific functions cannot be experienced yet. According to the official introduction, the car will be equipped with an 8155 chip.
In terms of power, the new car will be built on a new platform architecture, providing single-motor rear-drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive models. The official has not disclosed the specific parameters, but said that the cruising range of the rear-drive model is over 400km, and the cruising range of the four-wheel drive model is over 500km. It is expected that the battery capacity will also have a relatively large difference.
Chery + SmartMi’s cooperation mode:
SmartMi Technology is a Xiaomi ecological chain enterprise. Its team covers design, engineering research and development, and marketing. The cooperation with Chery will adopt a fusion model. The SmartMi Technology car manufacturing team will be integrated into Chery’s interior, and the core members of the team will also be in the iCAR brand. Get a new appointment. Therefore, the cooperation between Chery and SmartMi is different from the Huawei Smart Selection Car model, and it is also not directly related to Xiaomi Group and Xiaomi Auto.
Taking iCAR V23 as an example, its product definition, design, engineering research and development, and innovative marketing are all responsible by the SmartMi Technology team, while development, production and manufacturing, channel construction, sales, delivery, and service are all handled by Chery iCAR.
