Geely FS21 Spy Shots: Next-Gen Preface to Feature LiDAR and Hybrid Powertrains

Spy shots of the production-ready Geely FS21 have surfaced, signaling the upcoming successor to the current Geely Preface (FS11). The prototype, previously showcased during the launch of Geely’s i-HEV hybrid technology, confirms that the new model will feature advanced hardware, including LiDAR, and support for the Qianli Haohan H5 intelligent driving system.

Although the test vehicle remains heavily camouflaged, design cues from the prototype suggest the front fascia will retain Geely’s signature waterfall-style grille. The lower bumper features integrated air intakes, while the headlights have been redesigned for a sharper, more aggressive look, maintaining the distinctive three-segment daytime running light signature. The rear profile continues the fastback silhouette, with expected refinements to the taillight assembly and rear bumper design.

Inside, the cabin is largely obscured, but visible details indicate a redesigned center console storage area and a horizontal layout for the cup holders. The vehicle is expected to retain an electronic gear selector. As previously reported, the integration of LiDAR and the Qianli Haohan H5 system positions this model as a significant step forward in Geely’s smart driving capabilities.

Under the hood, the FS21 will utilize Geely’s latest i-HEV hybrid powertrain. Based on the current Preface i-HEV, this system pairs a 1.5L engine with a P3 electric motor, delivering a combined maximum output of 230 kW (approx. 313 hp) and paired with a 3-speed DHT transmission, achieving a WLTC fuel consumption of just 3.98L/100km. Furthermore, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant is expected to join the lineup in the future. We will continue to monitor this story as more official details emerge.
