The 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show officially opens. At this auto show, the Great Wall Motors TANK brand officially announced the pre-sale price of its new mid-to-large SUV, the TANK 500. The new SUV is offered by three variants with a total of 9 models launched, with pre-sale prices ranging from RMB 335,000 to RMB 395,000 (~US$52,494 – US$61,896).
The TANK series models are all hard-core off-road styles, and the TANK 500 has made good use of this style. The front face of TANK 500 has a large hexagonal air intake grille, and the protruding design is rich in three-dimensionality. On both sides, there are light groups with LED light sources. The front bumper of the new car is a bar-type design, the generous style is also more domineering. At the same time, the TANK 500 also displayed two-color and single-color models.
At the rear of the car, it is equipped with a roof spoiler, and the tail lights on both sides are featured with a longitudinal layout and are connected by a chrome-plated decorative strip to form a bar-type design. The rear surround is also featured with a more aura of silver rear guard design, and uses a hidden exhaust layout to enhance the overall sense. In terms of model size, the length, width and height of the tank 500 are 4878 (5070)/1934/1905mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2850mm.
In the interior part, the new car uses a full LCD instrument panel and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The central multimedia display is a suspended design. The central console has a very atmospheric shape and a sense of hierarchy. The central aisle area is also equipped with electronic shifting. The mechanism and knob-type function keys, combined with wooden decorative panels and leather interiors, give a good sense of luxury.
In the power section, the new car will be powered by a 3.0T turbocharged V6 engine with a maximum power of 354 horsepower (260 kilowatts) and a maximum torque of 500 N·m. In terms of transmission, it is matched with a 9-speed AT gearbox and four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive system uses the third-generation intelligent four-wheel drive system with mechanical locking function. AWD is a new electromagnetic clutch actuator system and it has 11 terrain modes for off-road.
