GWM TANK 500 is finally here: 3.0T V6+9AT+48V light-hybrid system known as the “China’s Prado”

As one of the most watched SUV this year, TANK 500 from Great Wall Motors has attracted much attention since the exposure of spy photos last year, and announced price in 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show. On the evening of March 18, the new model TANK 500 was officially launched, with a price range of 335,000-395,000 yuan. It is offered by 6 variants. It is another brand-new model of the current TANK series after the launch of TANK 300, and it is also the current flagship SUV model under this brand.

The positioning of TANK 500 is significantly different from the previous TANK 300. The new SUV is inspired by ancient Chinese imperial architecture, and the whole shape presents a more solemn feeling. The front of the car adopts a hexagonal grille and is equipped with horizontal chrome trim strips. With the huge TANK brand logo, it does have a very hard-core aura.

On the side of the body, TANK 500 also continues its tough style, with a square shape, simple lines and a sense of power. In terms of the rear, there are obvious differences in design between the luxury version and the sports version. The main difference is whether it is equipped with an external spare tire, and the sports version is equipped with an external spare tire.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of TANK 500 are 5070/1934/1905mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2850mm. It is positioned as a medium and large SUV, and provides both 5-seat and 7-seat layout.

In terms of interior, the center console of TANK 500 is decorated with partial wood grain, and three interior colors of double brown, blue rice and black are available. In terms of power, TANK 500 models will be powered by a 3.0T V6 engine. According to the official data provided by the manufacturer, the engine has a maximum power of 260 kilowatts, a peak torque of 500 N m, and the transmission system is matched with a 9-speed AT transmission, the 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 7.3 seconds, and the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers under comprehensive conditions is 10.79 liters.

In terms of power, TANK 500 series is powered by a 3.0T V6 engine + 48V mild hybrid system, and is equipped with a self-developed 9AT automatic transmission, with a maximum power of 354 horsepower (260kW) and a maximum torque of 500 Nm.
