SAIC Maxus has officially launched its latest lineup of pickup trucks, featuring the all-new Interstellar L, the 2026 Interstellar EV, and the 2026 T60. The new Interstellar L is priced between 108,800 and 159,800 RMB (approx. $15,000 – $22,000 USD), the 2026 Interstellar EV is priced at 249,800 RMB (approx. $34,400 USD), and the 2026 T60 starts at 79,800 RMB (approx. $11,000 USD). To celebrate the launch, Maxus is offering a “try before you buy” program, allowing customers to test drive the vehicles for seven days before committing to a purchase.
In terms of design, the new Interstellar L features a split front bumper and grille design, with a standard “cool black” styling package across all trims. The Elite 4WD version comes equipped with all-terrain (AT) tires as standard. The 2026 Interstellar EV adopts the brand’s signature “Zhi Ju Ba Fang” design language, characterized by a rugged and imposing aesthetic, highlighted by extensive silver plating and a striking red taillight assembly.
Inside, the Interstellar L offers optional heated seats and a heated steering wheel, with an electronic parking brake and auto-hold feature as standard equipment. The 2026 Interstellar EV utilizes a progressive leaf spring suspension system to balance load-carrying capacity with passenger comfort, offering three distinct drive modes: Economy, Normal, and Power.
Under the hood, the Interstellar L is powered by the SAIC π Plus 2.5T diesel engine, delivering 165kW of power and 520N·m of torque. It boasts a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons and an fuel efficiency rating of 7.9L/100km. The vehicle is equipped with a BorgWarner part-time 4WD system, featuring a 2.64x low-range torque multiplication and optional triple differential locks. The 2026 T60 also utilizes a diesel powertrain, producing 120kW and 410N·m of torque, paired with a BorgWarner 4WD system. The 2026 Interstellar EV features an 88kWh battery pack, capable of charging from 20% to 80% in just 43 minutes, and supports 6.6kW V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) external power discharge.
