On April 21, Roewe celebrated its 20th anniversary with a major brand event themed “The First Family,” where it officially unveiled the Jiayue 07, the first concept car in its new AI-powered product sequence. Led by Jozef Kabaň, SAIC Group’s Vice President of Global Design, the Jiayue 07 is touted as the world’s first AI-native vehicle co-created with Volcano Engine (ByteDance’s enterprise arm). Focused on the needs of modern families, the concept will make its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, with the production version slated for a June release.
The Jiayue 07 is designed as a large five-seater SUV, measuring nearly 5 meters (approx. 197 inches) in length. It adopts Roewe’s “Uplifting Aesthetics” philosophy, featuring a 1.2-meter-high front end paired with a sweeping roofline and a robust D-pillar, giving the vehicle an imposing and upright stance. The “rear-leaning” design shifts the visual center of gravity backward, while the front and rear profiles utilize a stable trapezoidal silhouette to balance presence with a sense of security.

Lighting serves as a centerpiece of the design. The vehicle is equipped with high-mounted through-type lights, “Long Star” light strips, and “Star Link” headlights. Each side features three sets of seven LED beads, symbolizing good fortune, while 28 vertical U-shaped light strips create an upward visual momentum. Eschewing cheap black plastic cladding, the body features body-colored metallic paint and fully electroplated window trim. As the work of the former lead designer of the BMW X7, the Jiayue 07’s side profile inherits luxury SUV DNA while integrating the understated stability preferred by Eastern families.

Roewe emphasizes that the Jiayue sequence is not just a car with cloud services added on; it is a global-first AI-native sequence co-defined from the ground up with Volcano Engine. The Jiayue 07 features the “Doubao Large Model 2.0 Series,” creating an intelligent cockpit that truly understands and executes complex tasks. It also boasts a top-tier high-level intelligent driving assistance system. Notably, when the ADAS is activated, cameras on both sides automatically pop out to enhance both interactive feedback and driving safety.

While specific powertrain specifications have not yet been disclosed, Roewe confirmed that the vehicle is built on a sophisticated electronic and electrical architecture. The company has invested tens of billions of yuan into developing this platform, which features over 2,000 SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) interfaces. This allows the vehicle to deconstruct and precisely schedule hardware and software functions at an atomic level.
The industry-first CPP (Context, Planner, Pixel-level function calling) AI-native architecture enables the car to manage massive amounts of information and long-term memory (Context), perform intelligent analysis and decision-making (Planner), and execute tasks with pixel-level precision. This creates a full-link technical loop, bringing AI-native technology into real-world automotive scenarios.

Roewe describes the AI-native car as an “intelligent partner” that learns, remembers, and grows with the user through human-like dialogue models. To address security concerns, the brand has implemented industry-leading privacy protection technology, strictly partitioning AI access levels to ensure every service is secure and reliable.
The name “Jiayue” reflects the brand’s mission: “Jia” (Family) represents a deep understanding of family travel needs, and “Yue” (Leap) signifies using AI to achieve a massive leap in travel quality. Alongside the Jiayue 07, Roewe also showcased the Jiayue 06 and Jiayue 09 concepts, offering a full spectrum of solutions for the AI era. Marking its 20th year, Roewe plans to accelerate its product rollout, launching a new model every three months to complete its next-generation lineup.
