The Voyah Taishan X8 has officially hit the market, offering a compelling blend of luxury, advanced technology, and versatile powertrain options. Positioned as a large 5-seater SUV, the Taishan X8 is available in five distinct trims with a starting price of 292,900 RMB (approx. $40,400 USD), ranging up to 379,900 RMB (approx. $52,400 USD).

### Design and Dimensions
The Taishan X8 maintains the brand’s signature design language but introduces a more athletic stance. The front fascia features a new active illuminated grille and a split headlight layout with DLP smart projection technology. Measuring 5,200mm in length, 2,025mm in width, 1,814mm in height with a 3,090mm wheelbase, it is slightly more compact than the 6-seater Voyah Taishan.
The side profile is enhanced by 21-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and flush door handles. At the rear, the vehicle sports a continuous “Galaxy” taillight design with an integrated illuminated Voyah logo.

### Interior and Technology
Inside, the cabin emphasizes minimalism and luxury. It features a dual 15.6-inch Huawei smart screen setup, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 55-inch AR-HUD. The vehicle runs on the HarmonySpace 5.2 cockpit system with MOLA voice AI. Comfort is prioritized with heated, ventilated, and massaging seats throughout, including two zero-gravity seats in the second row. Entertainment is provided by a 29-speaker VOYAH Sound system and a 21.4-inch 3K ceiling-mounted screen.

### Powertrain and Chassis
The Taishan X8 is built on the Voyah Qingyun 2.0 platform, featuring a double-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension, complemented by a three-chamber air suspension and EDC “Magic Carpet” damping system.
* **Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV):** Powered by a 1.5T engine paired with dual electric motors, delivering a total system output of up to 490kW and 915N·m of torque. It offers a CLTC pure electric range of up to 370km and a combined range of 1,506km.
* **Pure Electric (BEV):** Features dual motors with a combined 475kW and 765N·m, achieving a 0-100km/h sprint in 5.5 seconds. It supports 800V high-voltage architecture, allowing for rapid charging from 20% to 80% in just 10-12 minutes.

### Intelligent Driving
A standout feature is the integration of Huawei’s Qiankun ADS system, supported by four 896-line dual-optical path LiDAR sensors, providing robust hardware for advanced driver assistance.
### Editor’s Verdict
The Voyah Taishan X8 is a well-rounded package that combines high-end hardware—such as Huawei’s intelligent driving suite, three-chamber air suspension, and an 800V architecture—with a luxurious, tech-forward cabin. By offering a pure 5-seater configuration, it fills a strategic gap in the large SUV market, complementing the existing 6-seater Taishan. With its aggressive pricing and strong product positioning, the X8 is poised to become a major volume driver for the Voyah brand as it continues to diversify its lineup this year.
