WEY V9X Flagship PHEV SUV Launches Pre-Sales: 800V Tech and 1,056-Mile Range Starting at $52,000

On April 17, WEY officially commenced pre-sales for the V9X, offering three trim levels with a pre-sale price range of 371,800 to 411,800 RMB (approximately $52,052 to $57,652 USD). As the first model built on the Guiyuan S platform, the V9X is positioned as a large luxury plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV. It features a high-performance powertrain consisting of a 2.0T engine paired with a 4-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), an 800V high-voltage architecture, and 6C ultra-fast charging. The vehicle boasts a maximum pure electric range of 470 km (292 miles) and a comprehensive range of 1,700 km (1,056 miles). Additionally, the V9X introduces the ‘Little Wei’ AI driving and cockpit agents to enhance the intelligent user experience. Hybrid (HEV) and pure electric (EV) versions are expected to launch later this year.

The exterior design draws inspiration from traditional Oriental architecture, emphasizing elegance and a commanding presence. The front fascia utilizes a symmetrical layout with layered lines reminiscent of ancient palace rooftops. It is equipped with Hi Light intelligent headlights that support six driving assistance projection scenarios and various greeting animations, including ‘Starry River’ and holiday themes. A floating illuminated logo at the center is flanked by slender light strips, creating a classic symmetrical aesthetic.

From the side, the V9X features a stretched silhouette with curves inspired by overhanging eaves, balancing grace with structural stability. The vehicle also offers dual-tone door handles. At the rear, the ‘3D Shadow’ taillights consist of over a hundred individual light elements arranged like a beacon tower. Exterior color options include Moonlight Silver, Wenyuan Black, Danchen Purple, Rouju Gray, Shenting Green, and several premium gold-infused shades. The vehicle measures up to 5,299 mm in length with a wheelbase reaching 3,150 mm.

Inside, the cabin is dominated by a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and dual 17.3-inch screens for the center console and front passenger. Second-row passengers enjoy a 21.4-inch entertainment screen, all powered by the Snapdragon 8295P chip. The ‘Little Wei’ cockpit agent, developed on the Guiyuan S platform, creates a human-like AI system that integrates perception, decision-making, and execution throughout the vehicle.

The audio experience is delivered via the Coffee AI Sound system, featuring 31 rare-earth magnetic speakers, including independent headrest speakers for the first and second rows. With dual independent amplifiers providing a peak power of 3,080W, the 8.1.4.8 architecture allows for intelligent sound field zoning. A 9.2-inch high-resolution streaming rearview mirror provides a 60-degree wide-angle view covering three lanes.

The V9X offers a six-seat layout upholstered in Nappa leather with intricate 3D quilting and embroidery. The driver’s seat features adjustable firmness via integrated air sacs, allowing users to switch between Sport, Comfort, Standard, and Auto modes. The front seats include three-level heating, ventilation, and 10-point back massage. The second-row ‘King Chair’ on the right side offers a zero-gravity mode with a 22-point full-body massage system and a 4-way electric leg rest.

Storage is abundant with 48 compartments throughout the cabin, including hidden slots and under-seat boxes. Convenience features include 50W wireless charging on the passenger door panel and a dual-purpose refrigerator that supports temperatures from -6°C to 50°C. The V9X comes standard with fully electric doors and electric side steps capable of supporting up to 175 kg.

For driver assistance, the vehicle is equipped with 27 high-performance sensors and the Thor-U chip, delivering 700 TOPS of computing power. The AI driving agent utilizes a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model and a cloud-based world model to provide a superior assisted driving experience.

Built on an 800V architecture, the PHEV system combines a 2.0T engine with dual motors. The engine produces 175 kW, while various motor configurations offer total system outputs of 500 kW, 510 kW, or 550 kW. Battery options include 55.4 kWh, 66.6 kWh, and 80 kWh packs, providing CLTC pure electric ranges of 310 km, 402 km, and 470 km, respectively. The digital chassis includes self-developed dual-chamber air suspension, EDC continuously variable damping, and 20-degree rear-wheel steering.

The WEY V9X enters the competitive 400,000 to 500,000 RMB luxury SUV segment, directly challenging models like the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9. By offering flagship features like 800V tech, rear-wheel steering, and advanced AI as standard, WEY aims to redefine itself as a leader in technical luxury and AI-driven mobility.
