Xiaomi Auto officially launched its highly anticipated first SUV, the Xiaomi YU7, today. Available in three configurations, the YU7 is priced between ¥253,500 and ¥329,900 (~$35,400 USD – ~$46,100 USD).
The YU7 is positioned as a significant new beginning for Xiaomi Auto, representing more than just an “elevated” version of the SU7 sedan. It comes standard with an 800V silicon carbide platform, lidar, double-layer acoustic glass, four-piston calipers, continuous variable damping shock absorbers, and the innovative Xiaomi SkyScreen panoramic display.

Key Highlights of the Xiaomi YU7:

- Design & Aerodynamics: The YU7 maintains Xiaomi’s signature design language, featuring “waterdrop headlights” and a sleek “boot-shaped” profile. Its aerodynamic design, including active grille shutters and integrated spoiler, achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.245.
- Spacious Interior & Smart Features: With dimensions of 4999/1996/1608mm and a 3000mm wheelbase, the YU7 offers a generous interior. It boasts the industry-first Xiaomi HyperVision SkyScreen panoramic display, providing an ultra-wide, high-definition viewing experience. The cabin also integrates a 16.1-inch central control screen powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip running Xiaomi’s HyperOS, supporting a seamless “Human-Car-Home Ecosystem” with expanded IoT connectivity.
- Advanced Safety & Driving Assistance: The YU7 employs 2200MPa ultra-high-strength steel in critical areas and achieves 90.2% high-strength steel and aluminum alloy body composition, ensuring exceptional torsional rigidity. For intelligent driving, it comes standard with a lidar, 4D millimeter-wave radar, multiple cameras, and ultrasonic radars, all powered by an NVIDIA Thor 700TOPS chip for advanced end-to-end assisted driving capabilities.
- Powerful Performance & Efficiency: All YU7 models feature an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform. The single-motor variant delivers 235 kW and offers a CLTC range of 835km. Dual-motor versions provide up to 508 kW, with ranges of 760km to 770km. Top-tier models include Brembo four-piston calipers and support ultra-fast charging, reaching 10-80% in just 12 minutes, adding 620km of range in 15 minutes.

The Xiaomi YU7 aims to challenge established market leaders like the Tesla Model Y by offering superior product strength in areas such as size, power, range, and advanced intelligence. Its launch marks Xiaomi’s 15th anniversary and the formal closure of its “Human-Car-Home Ecosystem” strategy, positioning Xiaomi as a comprehensive technology company. The YU7 is poised to be a pivotal model in Xiaomi’s journey from a cross-industry entrant to an industry leader, with aspirations to also expand into international markets.
