Now that August 2026 wholesales have been covered, let’s focus on the latest launches on the Chinese market. In August we have no less than eleven new models hitting the charts, nine of them Chinese. 1 . Haval H10 (10,178 sales)
The Haval H10 is Great Wall Motor’s flagship boxy plug-in hybrid SUV built on the new “Global One” (Guiyuan) unibody platform. It brings heavy-duty executive space, a 3-row layout, standard roof LiDAR, and low-speed “Crab Walk” rear-wheel steering into China’s mainstream family SUV market. The H10 comes in the shape of a rugged, angular “boxy” styling with blocky LED light clusters, wide flared wheel arches, a flat roofline, and an integrated rear tailgate with optional external spare tire casing. It is available as a 5-seat variant (2+3) at 5,138 mm (L) × 2,050 mm (W) × 1,970 mm (H) or 6-seat variant (2+2+2) at 5,299 mm (L) × 2,050 mm (W) × 1,970 mm (H), with a common 3,000 mm wheelbase.

The H10 is equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a 29-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted rear entertainment display. Amenities include a 7.7-litre heating/cooling refrigerator and a 21-speaker surround audio system. The H10 is driven by GWM’s 2nd-Generation Hi4 Plug-in Hybrid System with dual electric motors (AWD). The engine is a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine (123 kW / 165 hp) mated to a 4-speed DHT hybrid transmission, delivering the in just 4.9 seconds. The 42.8 kWh LFP battery provides 232 km of pure-electric CLTC range (180 km WLTC) and over 1,400 km of combined total range.
The H10 is priced from 201,800 to 223,800 yuan (25,900-28,700€ or US$30,100-33,400) and will compete with the likes of the tremendously successful Fang Cheng Bao Ti 7 (179,800-239,800 yuan), BYD Tang PHEV, Li Auto L7/L8 and among foreigner the Toyota Land Cruiser and Prado. Already inside the Top 20 best-selling SUVs in China for the month of August, the H1 has already overtaken its bar for success and will need to minimise its fall over the next few months to remain a success.

2. BYD Qin MAX (2,787 sales)
The BYD Qin MAX is BYD’s extra-large B-segment fastback sedan within the Dynasty Series. Slotting directly between the Qin L and the flagship Han, the Qin MAX consolidates BYD’s mid-size offerings by replacing separate legacy BEV and PHEV bodies with a unified, modern architecture. The Qin MAX features semi-recessed door handles, active lower intake shutters, short body overhangs, dynamic 18-inch alloy wheels, and an optional roof-mounted LiDAR unit on upper trims. It is offered in vibrant youthful colours like low-saturation purple. The Qin MAX comes in at 4,866 mm length, 1,890 mm width and 1,495 mm height with a 2,820 mm wheelbase.
It debuts a two-spoke steering wheel with integrated intelligent driving paddle shifters, a column-mounted gear selector, and an available “Dawn Purple” interior theme. Includes young-buyer-focused additions like threaded action-camera mounting ports and built-in bag hooks. It is anchored by a signature rotating adaptive central touchscreen running the DiLink Smart Cockpit ecosystem, paired with an embedded digital driver display. Driver assistances include BYD’s “God’s Eye” (DiPilot) intelligent driving suite with LiDAR support for urban and highway navigation on autopilot for higher trims.

The Qin MAX is available in pure electric (BEV) with an 800V-class setup supporting BYD’s Flash Charge system ( charge in 5 minutes), and plug-in hybrid (DM-i). BYD launched the Qin MAX with aggressive pricing to dominate the mid-size sedan market: from 99,900 to 143,900 yuan (12,800-18,500€ or US$14,900-21,400). Its “Ocean Series” platform twin is the BYD Seal 06, sharing identical dimensions and pricing as well as core mechanical and technical specifications. The Qin MAX’s primary benchmark target is the Tesla Model 3, with the BYD offering comparable cabin space and faster 5-minute flash charging at nearly half the price of an entry Model 3 in China. Other competitors include the Geely Galaxy L6 / E5, Leapmotor C01, VW ID.ERA 5S and MG 07.

3. VW ID.ERA 5S (1,485 sales)
The Volkswagen ID. Era 5S is SAIC-Volkswagen’s budget-friendly plug-in hybrid (PHEV) mid-size sedan. Designed exclusively for China, the ID. Era 5S marks VW’s aggressive push to capture volume sales in the sub-120,000 yuan family sedan market. It is the most affordable new-energy (NEV) model in VW’s China lineup. It features full-width front and rear LED light bars and hidden flush door handles. It comes at 4,838 mm long, 1,842 mm wide and 1,480 mm high with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. The dashboard is clean and minimalist featuring a floating 12.8-inch central touchscreen paired with a small digital driver instrument cluster and an electronic column gear shifter.

The ID. Era 5S utilises a dedicated plug-in hybrid system paired with a LFP battery pack. It has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine paired with an electric drive motor, producing a combined system output of roughly 160 kW (215 hp). It is equipped with a 21.2 kWh LFP battery pack delivering a pure Electric Range: 160 km (CLTC). The combined range is over 1,300 km with a full gas tank and charged battery. It supports DC fast charging, replenishing 30% to 80% in approximately 20–25 minutes. SAIC-Volkswagen launched the ID. Era 5S with extremely competitive pricing: from 89,900 to 119,900 yuan (11,500-15,400€ or US$13,400-17,900) and competes with domestic NEVs such as the BYD Qin Plus DM-i / Qin L DM-i:, the Geely Galaxy L6 and the Changan Qiyuan A05 / Deepal L07.
Volkswagen could win a lot with this model: both from existing VW owners and Chinese young buyers. It will however be difficult to convince buyers to regain confidence in the German brand.

4. WEY V8X (1,008 sales)
The WEY V8X is Great Wall Motor’s flagship 5-seat luxury SUV built on GWM’s ONE Platform. It acts as the 2-row, 5-seater counterpart to the larger 6-seat Wey V9X, balancing full-size proportions with heavy chassis technology. It features full-width LED light bars and hidden door handles. The Luxury Family Version’s dimensions are (L) (W) (H), with a wheelbase. The Sport Version is slightly shorter at (L) with a wheelbase. The interior offers dual 17.3-inch 3K infotainment screens, a 29-inch AR-HUD, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 17.3-inch rear passenger entertainment screen. Smart Driving is delivered by Coffee Pilot 4 powered by an Nvidia Thor-U chip (700 TOPS) and LiDAR, supporting full parking-to-parking Navigation on Autopilot (NOA).

The powertrain is the Super Hi4 plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5T or 2.0T engine with dual electric motors paired with a 4-speed DHT transmission. It offers up to () and torque on top-end trims, achieving in 4.5 seconds. The battery capacities are 42.8 kWh (LFP) up to 64.7 kWh / 66.6 kWh (NCM). The CLTC Pure Electric Range: Up to 402 km (WLTC ~312 km) and the CLTC combined range is over 1,650 km. Charging supports 800V architecture (6C fast charging on higher trims) replenishing in 9 minutes. The V8X is priced from 239,800 to 315,800 yuan (30,800-40,500€ or US$35,700-47,100) and even 226,800 yuan as a limited launch pricing. It will compete with the likes of the AITO M7, AvatR 07L, Voyah Free, Li Auto L7, IM LS6 and Onvo L80.
The V9X, launched in May, peaked at 1,855 sales in July and is selling almost exactly the same as the V8X this month. We’d want the latter to do a little better to be considered a success.

5. Geely Galaxy TT (414 sales)
The Galaxy TT is Geely’s high-performance, mid-to-large all-electric coupe sedan. Positioned as a direct, affordable answer to sporty electric fastbacks like the Xiaomi SU7, it is built on Geely’s SEA/PMA2+ platform with standard 800V architecture. It has a fastback sports-sedan styling featuring clean lines, sharp front-end styling, hidden door handles, and an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.22 Cd. Top trims include an active 3-position electric rear spoiler capable of providing up to 508 N of downforce at high speeds. It comes at 4,999 mm long, 1,919 mm wide and 1,479 mm high with a 2,920 mm wheelbase. The cockpit is powered by the Flyme Auto 2.0 infotainment system, featuring a 15.4-inch central panel, a 10.2-inch digital driver display, and a 25.6-inch AR-HUD. It also offers a massive 1.97 m² panoramic glass canopy and a premium 23-speaker sound system. In terms of Smart Driving feature, there is a roof-mounted LiDAR unit running Geely Afari Smart Driving (G-ASD) powered by Horizon Robotics hardware.

Powertrain options are a RWD (Single Motor) at 245 kW (329 hp) / 320 N·m torque, 0–100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and the Ultra AWD (Dual Motor) at 425 kW (570 hp / 578 PS) combined output, 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The batteries are CATL-supplied Shenxing TT LFP (63.8 kWh or 75.2 kWh) offering a CLTC Range: 640 km to 725 km (RWD) and 650 km (Ultra AWD). The TT supports 800V + 6C Ultra-Fast Charge: 10% to 80% charging in ~11.5 minutes, adding over 400 km of range in under 12 minutes. Limited launch pricing starts from 129,900 to 185,900 yuan (16,700-23,900€ or US$19,400-27,700). The primary benchmark design and performance rival is the Xiaomi SU7 (219,999 – 303,900 yuan), with other competitors including the Xpeng P7+, Zeekr 007, Link & Co 10 and MG 07. We have high hopes for the TT.

6. Stelato G9 (325 sales)
The Stelato G9 is the flagship ultra-luxury off-road SUV created by BAIC BluePark and Huawei under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). Breaking away from the sleek design of the Stelato S9 sedan, the G9 is HIMA’s first “hardcore” boxy luxury SUV. It combines a high-rigidity unibody chassis, extreme overland camping options, and Huawei’s top-tier autonomous driving suite. The G9 features a brutalist, boxy “Monolith” silhouette with sharp right angles, flush door handles, and silver body cladding. It is equipped with Huawei’s “Star Ring” LED matrix headlights (with dual-colour DLP projection), full-width taillights, and up to three LiDAR sensors. Outdoor accessories include an optional factory-integrated one-touch electric rooftop tent, side awning, and an external tailgate storage/spare wheel casing. It is 5,206 mm long (5,377 mm with rear storage box), 2,050 mm wide and 1,897 mm high with a 3,160 mm wheelbase.

The G9 is available in both 5-seat (2+3) and 6-seat (2+2+2) configurations featuring dual zero-gravity front seats and second-row captain’s chairs. The cockpit is driven by Huawei’s HarmonySpace software with a full-dash 3-screen setup (instrument panel, central touchscreen, and dedicated passenger screen) plus a large AR-HUD. The G9 debuts Huawei ADS 5.0 powered by a 896-line dual-optical-path LiDAR suite, supporting mapless urban/highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and Level 3 autonomous driving up to 120 km/h. It is built on an 800V high-voltage architecture with dual-motor AWD producing 586 hp (437 kW) standard across all models. The EREV variant offers 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine generator + dual motors with batteries of 56 kWh LFP or 75.4 kWh NMC CATL packs for a pure electric range (CLTC) of 220 km to 405 km and up to 1,366 km total combined range. The BEV variant includes a 120 kWh CATL “Giant Whale” 5C battery pack for a range up to 728 km.
The G9 is priced from 429,800 to 549,800 yuan (55,200-70,600€ or US$64,100-81,900) and competes with the likes of the AITO M9 (479,800-659,800 yuan), Zeekr 9X (465,900-599,900 yuan) and potentially the Freelander 8 (309,900-459,900 yuan). This is Stelato’s first attempt as a SUV so we’ll be cautious.

7. Maextro V800 (181 sales) and V680 (177 sales)
The Maextro V800 is the flagship ultra-luxury executive MPV from Maextro—the top-tier joint brand between BAIC and Huawei under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). Designed to challenge ultra-luxury multi-purpose vehicles like the Lexus LM and Toyota Alphard, it brings 800V fully active chassis technology, Huawei’s ADS 5.0, and a “first-class” private cabin experience to China’s million-yuan MPV segment. The exterior features an imposing “Starship” design language with a closed front grille, 96-cut matrix crystal LED headlights, an illuminated Maextro badge, and “Star Ring” interactive LED taillights comprising over 5,000 independent LED beads capable of custom lighting animations. It also features hidden door handles with 3D star-effect illuminations and a drag coefficient of just 0.259 —exceptionally low for a full-size MPV. It’s a large vehicle, coming in at 5,495 mm long, 2,006 mm wide, 1,850 mm high with a 3,430 mm wheelbase.

Inside, we have an executive cabin layout designed as a mobile luxury lounge wrapped in full-grain semi-aniline leather, real wood trim, and cut-crystal controls. The second-row “Lingyun” zero-gravity captain’s chairs feature 20-layer cushioning, full-surface heating, and a 20-point pneumatic massage system. It also features an optional private beverage bar with instant hot water for tea/coffee, a built-in heating/cooling fridge, and a deodorising electric shoe compartment. It is driven by Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit with an integrated triple front display, a 41.6-inch rear theatre projection screen, a 1,608-LED gesture-controlled “scroll” starry-sky roof, and electrochromic privacy light-curtain glass (99.6%+ light blockage). The V800 is equipped with the flagship Huawei Sound Ultimate system boasting 41 speakers, 2,920W of amplifier power, and 11.3.4. spatial channels. It features Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 backed by an unprecedented 6-LiDAR array(including a 896-line image-grade LiDAR).

The V800 is built on the dedicated Maextro Tuling Longxing platform using an extended-range electric (EREV) powertrain: Dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) paired with a 1.5-litre turbocharged range extender. The combined system output is 390 kW (530 hp) and the battery pack is a ~63.3–65 kWh CATL NMC battery for a pure electric range of 275 km (WLTC) and a total combined range of over 1,200 km. The V800 is an ultra-luxury vehicle, priced from 766,000 to 1,016,000 yuan (98,300-130,400€ or US$114,200-151,400). It competes with the likes of the Lexus LM 350h / 500h, Toyota Alphard/Vellfire, Zeekr 900 Grand, Buick GL8 Century and Denza D9 Premier.
The Maextro V680 is the smaller version of the V800. It is priced at 648,000 yuan (83,200€ or US$96,600). It is 5,320 mm long with a 3,290 mm wheelbase. Although very pricey, the Maextro S800 sedan has averaged 1,000 monthly sales since the start of 2026. We should expect similar levels for the V800 and V680.

8. Beijing Taitan 700 (122 sales)
The Beijing Taitan 700 is BAIC Off-Road’s flagship full-size, intelligent luxury 4×4 SUV. Built on a rugged body-on-frame platform, it fuses serious off-road hardware with Huawei’s smart driving tech and high-altitude luxury features. Its “Tairan Aesthetic” boxy styling with strong, upright proportions and wide wheel arches gives it a commanding road presence. Design details include a bold vertical front grille with integrated LED daytime running lights, a raised hood, an externally mounted rear spare tire, vertically stacked LED taillights, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Roof-mounted LiDAR supports Huawei smart driving. The 700 is 5,040 mm long, 1,959 mm wide and 1,926 mm high with a 2,820 mm wheelbase.

Inside, the vehicle offers a high-end multi-screen layout driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip running a 7-screen ecosystem including dual front screens and a 3K rear ceiling display. The 700 features Far-Infrared Wellness Seats: Zero-gravity recline () with leg rests, 10-point massage, and far-infrared therapy. It also has Aviation-Grade Oxygen System: supplies up to of oxygen for occupants driving through high-altitude environments. It also offers a heating/cooling refrigerator ( to ) and a custom Hi-Fi sound system with active noise cancellation. It is equipped standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 (896-line dual-optical LiDAR and 30 sensors) supporting urban, highway, and off-road Navigation on Autopilot (NOA).

The 700 is driven by an EREV powertrain paired with a body-on-frame chassis, composed of a turbocharged gas engine range extender + dual-motor electric 4WD for a total output of 532 hp. The battery is a CATL Xiaoyao LFP delivering of pure-electric CLTC range and up to 1,340 km of total combined range (CLTC). It charges 30% to 80% in ~20 minutes. Faithful to Beijing Off-road DNA, the 700 offer solid off-road capabilities: ground clearance, wading depth, approach angle, and 8-stage adjustable nitrogen shocks. Features 3 locking differentials, 12-speed Crawl Control, ATS AI terrain management (11 modes), and a tight “tactical” turning radius. The 700 is priced from 299,800 to 429,800 yuan (38,500-55,200€ or US$44,700-64,100) and competes with the likes of the Tank 500 / Tank 700, Fang Cheng Bao Leopard 5 / 8 and Toyota Land Cruiser / Prado, legacy off-roaders that the Taitan 700 aims to undercut with superior cabin luxury, Huawei ADAS, and lower operational costs.

9. Arcfox Alpha T7 (6 sales)
The Arcfox Alpha T7 (is BAIC Arcfox’s flagship mid-to-large coupe-SUV. Aimed directly at mainstream young family buyers, it undercuts many competitors by offering sizing, an 800V architecture, Magna-tuned chassis dynamics, and optional Huawei Qiankun ADS smart driving at an aggressive price point under 200,000 yuan. Design-wise, it features split LED matrix headlights connected by an illuminated light bar, flush door handles, dynamic roof rails, and an integrated tailgate spoiler. Higher-tier “Qiankun” variants feature a roof-mounted LiDAR array. It is 5,020 mm long, 1,996 mm wide and 1,685 mm high with a 3,040 mm wheelbase.

Inside, the display suite is anchored by a 17.3-inch 3K central touchscreen running an AI-integrated OS, paired with a full digital driver display and available AR-HUD. Upper trims (Qiankun Edition) run Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro with LiDAR for advanced urban/highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA). It is offered in both BEV and EREV setups. The BEV variant has a 309 hp rear motor combined with a CATL LFP battery for CLTC range, or a CATL LFP battery for CLTC range. Fast charging recharges in . The EREV variants (1,315 km Total Range) have a range extender engine + () rear electric motor. The T7 is priced from 137,800 to 174,800 yuan (17,700-22,400€ or US$20,500-26,100) and competes with the likes of the Leapmotor C11 / C16, BYD Tang, Deepal S07, Onvo L60, Nevo Q06 and VW ID.AURA T6.
The Alpha series has been reasonably successful for Arcfox so we are positive on this T7 which however enters a very crowded segment.
