Buick has officially unveiled the configuration details for the upcoming Electra E7, a new plug-in hybrid SUV set to hit the market on April 22. The vehicle will be available in three trim levels, with a price range of 160,000 to 210,000 RMB (approximately $22,000 to $29,000 USD). To celebrate the launch, the company is offering an early-bird incentive package worth 10,000 RMB ($1,380 USD).
In terms of design, the Electra E7 draws inspiration from the Electra SUV concept, featuring the brand’s signature “Wing” design language. The distinctive split-style “Galaxy Wing” headlights and the “Wind-Chasing Shark” front fascia give the vehicle a sharp, modern aesthetic. It will be available in four exterior colors: Pine Smoke Black, Satin Silver, Sand Gold, and Distant Mountain Teal. The vehicle measures 4,850mm in length, 1,910mm in width, and 1,676mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850mm.
Inside, the cabin is designed for comfort and tech-savviness, featuring an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, and a 50-inch AR-HUD. The interior supports CarPlay, HiCar, and CarLink connectivity. The “large five-seater” layout includes four floating-style seats, all equipped with three-stage heating and ventilation. The front seats offer multi-point massage and electric adjustment, while the rear backrests can be adjusted between 115° and 125°.
Performance-wise, the Electra E7 is powered by the “Zhenlong PHEV Pro” system. The top-tier powertrain pairs a 1.5T engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 280kW. The vehicle is equipped with a 32.6kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 235km and an impressive total combined range of 1,630km (approx. 1,013 miles). Additionally, the SUV features an RTD continuous damping control suspension system that scans road conditions 500 times per second to ensure a smooth ride.
