On April 27, Foton officially announced the start of pre-sales for the Mars PHEV pickup truck series. The lineup features two primary models: the Mars 7 PHEV and the Mars 9 PHEV, with pre-sale prices set at 189,800 RMB ($26,192 USD) and 209,800 RMB ($28,952 USD), respectively. Along with the launch, Foton is offering a comprehensive six-tier benefit package that includes special financing, trade-in subsidies, extended warranties, and customization support.

In terms of design, the new vehicle features a bold hexagonal front grille paired with a three-section high-strength off-road bumper, providing enhanced protection for demanding terrains. The hood is accented with decorative air vents, adding to the truck’s aggressive and dynamic look. A high-mount snorkel is also equipped to significantly improve wading depth and engine air intake efficiency, ensuring reliability during deep-water crossings.
The side profile highlights the truck’s rugged nature with muscular wheel arches and blacked-out off-road wheels.

The Mars PHEV is powered by a high-performance plug-in hybrid system, delivering a combined system power of 350 kW (approx. 469 hp) and a peak torque of 800 N·m (590 lb-ft). This powertrain is mated to a 4-speed DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) specifically designed for hybrid efficiency.

One of the standout features of the Mars PHEV is its impressive comprehensive range of 1,200 km (approx. 745 miles), making it an ideal choice for long-distance travel and overlanding.

To handle diverse environments, the vehicle offers 15 different driving modes, allowing drivers to tailor the performance to specific road conditions and personal preferences.
