The second-generation Denza D9, a premium mid-to-large MPV, has officially commenced deliveries, with the first batch of owners receiving their vehicles at a ceremony in Shenzhen. The new model is available in six configurations, priced between 359,800 and 469,800 RMB (approximately $49,800 – $65,000 USD). Built on a dedicated hybrid MPV platform, the second-gen D9 introduces significant upgrades, including the second-generation Blade Battery, advanced flash-charging technology, dual-valve DiSus-C intelligent damping, and the Tian-Shen-Zhi-Yan 5.0 intelligent driving system.
The exterior design has been refined with a new grille featuring intricate chrome detailing, projecting a more sophisticated and commanding presence. Customers can choose from eight exterior color options, including five solid colors and three dual-tone or limited-edition finishes, such as the exclusive “Night Gold” version which features genuine gold-plated badges. The vehicle measures 5,250mm in length, 1,960mm in width, and 1,900mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110mm.
Inside, the cabin has undergone a comprehensive overhaul. The front cockpit is equipped with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 21-inch head-up display (HUD), a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a streaming rearview mirror, and a dedicated 15.6-inch passenger display. Rear-seat passengers benefit from a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted screen, dual magnetic headrest screens, and touch-control panels integrated into the second-row seats. The interior is available in four distinct color palettes.
Safety and intelligence are at the forefront, with the Tian-Shen-Zhi-Yan 5.0 system coming standard across the lineup. This suite utilizes a sensor array including three LiDAR units and 12 cameras, enabling high-speed and urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), full-scene automated parking, and high-speed AEB emergency braking up to 120 km/h.
The powertrain lineup includes both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options. The PHEV variant pairs a 1.5T engine with a dual-motor system, delivering a combined motor output of 333 horsepower and 425 Nm of torque. It features a 66.5 kWh second-gen Blade Battery, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 401 km and a combined NEDC range of 1,521 km.
The BEV version offers both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, both powered by a 115 kWh second-gen Blade Battery. The single-motor version produces 462 horsepower and 365 Nm of torque, achieving a CLTC range of 800 km. The dual-motor AWD version boosts output to 558 horsepower and 445 Nm of torque, with a CLTC range of 750 km. All models come standard with dual-valve DiSus-C dampers and an intelligent anti-motion sickness system, alongside advanced safety features like high-speed tire blowout stabilization and crosswind stabilization.
