Geely Emgrand Up Series Launched in China, Starting at an Attractive $7,720 USD

On May 24, Geely Auto officially launched the Emgrand Up Series, a compact sedan lineup consisting of three trim levels. The official guide price ranges from 68,900 to 77,900 yuan (approx. $9,500 to $10,760 USD), with a limited-time promotional price range of 55,900 to 64,900 yuan (approx. $7,720 to $8,960 USD). Released to commemorate the Emgrand series surpassing 4.2 million global sales, the Up Series is a minor facelift based on the fourth-generation Emgrand. It offers enhanced interior textures, optimized equipment, an exclusive color scheme, and a more affordable price point, while keeping the same powertrain, platform, and cabin space as the standard model.

In terms of exterior design, the new car retains the classic styling of the fourth-generation Emgrand. The shield-shaped front grille is adorned with vertical chrome slats, flanked by sleek, narrow headlight clusters. From the side, a sharp shoulder line stretches from the front headlights all the way to the taillights, creating a clean and elongated silhouette. At the rear, the through-type taillight design adds visual depth and modern appeal. Additionally, Geely has introduced an exclusive “Glory Gold” paint option for this special series.

Inside, the cabin features a sophisticated two-tone layout. The new “Splendid Orange” interior theme combines black and orange elements, accented by chrome trim to deliver a refined and premium feel. The cockpit is equipped with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a large floating central infotainment touchscreen, and a yacht-style mechanical gear shifter. Practical amenities such as a sunroof and rear air conditioning vents are also included.

Under the hood, the Emgrand Up Series is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum output of 120 horsepower and a peak torque of 150 Nm. Transmission options include a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
