VOYAH has officially launched the pre-sale for its latest flagship SUV, the Taishan X8. The new model is available in five configurations with pre-sale prices ranging from 302,900 to 389,900 RMB ($41,780 – $53,780 USD). Positioned as a high-end large five-seater SUV, the Taishan X8 features an 896-line quad-LiDAR system, Huawei’s next-generation smart cockpit, and both PHEV and EV powertrain options. The vehicle is set to make its public debut at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show.
The VOYAH Taishan X8 continues the brand’s signature design language but adopts a more youthful and athletic aesthetic compared to the standard Taishan. The front fascia features a closed “waterfall” grille with integrated LED daytime running lights and a prominent illuminated logo. High-tech DLP projection headlights and large air intakes add to its premium presence.
From the side, the SUV showcases a sleek yet rugged profile with semi-hidden door handles, electric side steps, and large chrome accents. It offers 21-inch or 22-inch sport wheels. The vehicle measures 5,200mm in length, 2,025mm in width, and 1,814mm in height, with a massive wheelbase of 3,090mm. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors: Starlight Silver, Tourmaline Red, Distant Mountain Blue, Xuanying Black, Duruo White, and Chenxing Gray.
The rear design is clean and powerful, featuring a full-width matrix taillight assembly with “VOYAH” lettering at the center. The hidden exhaust layout emphasizes its modern, electrified identity.
Inside, the Taishan X8 is equipped with Huawei’s latest generation HarmonyOS smart cockpit. The dashboard is dominated by dual 15.6-inch 2K displays. The second row is a highlight, featuring “Zero-Gravity” seats that can recline up to 145 degrees and slide up to 200mm. These seats include a world-first mechanical kneading massage system with 32 pressure points covering everything from the neck to the calves. Additionally, the rear cabin includes a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted entertainment screen and a 13-liter dual-door refrigerator.
In terms of intelligence, the Taishan X8 debuts Huawei’s 896-line quad-LiDAR system, consisting of one primary LiDAR and three solid-state units. Combined with high-definition cameras and millimeter-wave radars, the hardware supports L3-level autonomous driving capabilities. The system includes high-speed navigation (NOA), urban NOA, automated parking, remote parking, and active hazard avoidance, all supported by continuous OTA updates.
A standout feature is the “One-Click Bed” mode. In under 60 seconds, the second-row seats fold flat, and an intelligent mattress automatically inflates to create a 2.1-meter level bed. The trunk is equally versatile, offering ventilation, deodorization, and drying functions, alongside a 220V power outlet and 6kW external discharge capability for camping needs.
The Taishan X8 offers two powertrain variants. The Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) version uses a 1.5T engine (110 kW) paired with dual electric motors. Two performance levels are available: a combined output featuring 150kW/215kW motors or a higher-spec 150kW/230kW setup. The PHEV offers an electric range of up to 310km and a fuel consumption of 6.5L/100km when the battery is depleted. The pure electric (EV) version features a 120kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC range of over 700km. Built on an 800V high-voltage platform with 5C ultra-fast charging, it can charge from 0% to 80% in just 12 minutes under optimal conditions.
As VOYAH’s flagship for 2026, the Taishan X8 aims to redefine the luxury SUV segment by combining massive interior space, Huawei’s cutting-edge tech, and versatile lifestyle features like the integrated bed mode. With its high-strength body, triple-chamber air suspension, and rear-wheel steering, it promises a premium driving experience for demanding families.
