The Denza N9 Super Charge Edition has officially launched in China, introducing significant technical upgrades to the brand’s flagship SUV. Available in three trim levels, the new model is priced between 409,800 and 469,800 RMB (approximately $56,700 – $65,000 USD), representing a 20,000 RMB premium over the standard 2026 model.
The core of this update lies in the integration of BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and advanced super-charging technology. These improvements have effectively doubled the CLTC-rated pure electric range from 201km to 420km, with a total combined range reaching 1,520km.
Visually, the N9 Super Charge Edition retains the familiar design language of the current model, featuring a closed-off front grille and distinctive dual-layer LED headlights. To enhance its premium appeal, the vehicle rides on exclusive 22-inch mirror-finished forged wheels. Measuring 5,258mm in length, 2,030mm in width, and 1,830mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125mm, it maintains its imposing presence.
Inside, the cabin has been refined with higher-quality materials, including genuine wood trim, metallic buttons, and a suede headliner. The seating features a new diamond-quilted pattern for added luxury. The tech suite is anchored by a 17.3-inch central infotainment screen, a 13.2-inch front passenger display, a 13.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 50-inch HUD. The vehicle also debuts a new-generation AI-powered smart cockpit and the “DiPilot 5.0” (Tian Shen Zhi Yan) advanced driver-assistance system.
Performance remains a highlight, with a plug-in hybrid system centered around a 2.0T engine. The setup utilizes a three-motor configuration delivering a combined output of 680 kW, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.7 seconds. The N9 also benefits from Denza’s “e3” platform and YunNian-A air suspension, offering features like independent rear-wheel steering (up to 20 degrees), a tight 4.65-meter turning radius, and specialized parking maneuvers.
Despite the technical prowess, the N9 faces a challenging market landscape. With competitors like the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9 dominating the segment, and internal competition from the Denza N8L, the N9’s sales have struggled, recording only 278 units in April. Whether these substantial upgrades can shift consumer perception remains to be seen.
